Seems my Linksys router is biting the dust a second time. It is very old and doesn’t like cell phones, microwaves, and rain. Bought a new netgear rangemax that worked great and the turkey bit the dust one day about 5 months ago. I wasn’t here so I am assuming we had a power hit that was just too much for it despite my precautions. Which sent me back to my old linksys.
Then for my birthday I got a new printer… and it came with a linksys router. I was going to sell it on ebay, but I think I’ll give it a shot. It is a newer version router than the one I’m using. Just hope it works better.
Give you some info when I hook it up. Looks like we are going to have a lot of rain over the next couple of months and I hate having to power down my router every time it rains. Wish me luck!

Lately, I have been trying out new recipes. In fact, the orange chicken and the carrot cake (I got both from Taste of Home magazine) came out delicious. I keep telling Bou that I would post the orange chicken for her… and finally I have do it – today… Here it is:
Orange Chicken with Sweet Potatoes
Ingredients:
3 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
2/3 cup plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, divided (I used Wondra flour)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground innamon
1 tsp pepper
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 5 oz each)
2 tblspn butter
1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted (10 3/4 oz)
3/4 cup unsweetened pineapple juice
2 tsps brown sugar
1 tsp grated orange peel
1/2 lb sliced fresh mushrooms (I left this out)
Hot cooked rice
Directions:
Layer sweet potatoes in a 3-qt. slow cooker. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine 2/3 cupflour and seasonings; add chicken, one piece at a time, and shake to coat.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook chicken in butter for 3 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Arrange chicken over sweet potatoes.
Place remaining flour in a small bowl. Stir in the soup, pineapple juice, brown sugar and orange peel until blended. Add mushrooms; pour over chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 3 1/2 to 4 hours or until a meat thermometer reads 170degrees F and potatoes are tender. Serve with rice. Yield: 4 servings.
The carrot cake will be posted later!

A while back I did a post on the Vine Store. No, I still haven’t bought anything from them… but I still enjoy going back and taking a look. Particularly after a long hard couple of months that I have had. There are some awesome Wine Racks there and I wish I had one when Mamaw was here. She loves a glass of wine with dinner on occasion. It would have been so easy to pick a bottle if I had THIS WINE RACK on my wall.
While their website still has view problems when you enlarge a picture, I still like it because they have an 800 number if you want to talk to a real person. They utilize Yahoo for their shopping cart… another good point in their favor. Also the return policy is reasonable… ” Return unused wine racks for 100% refund within 15 days of receiving order, no questions asked. ” – though keep in mind you must return all receipts and tags with it. But if you get it and don’t like the color or the size is the wrong… you don’t have to justify it, just send it back.
They not only have wine racks, but wine glasses, coolers, charms, and more. Yep, I can dream.
