1. To get paid, they must spend 5 or more hours on the floor. They will get paid for those days only.
2. No vacation pay.
3. Sick pay is half of what they get now.
4. They may keep the medical they have now.
5. There will be no pay for a ‘fact finding’ trip. They already get paid for the hotel, travel and the like with taxpayers money, they don’t need their salary as well… they are not ‘on the floor’.
6. Retirement can only be a maximum of 1/2 of what you earn.
7. No extra money for offices and staff
8. Both Representatives and Senators need to have a ‘vested’ date to get Retirement.

I’d add only one thing. On certain issues that have immediate relevance to the public (oil drilling, balancing the budget) Congress will be locked in and forbidden to adjourn until an agreeable resolution is found. If things still drag on too long, lock the bathrooms and pipe in some obnoxious music to keep them awake.
Sounds good to me too! Also I think they should be docked in pay if they miss a vote, unless they were called out of DC on a TRUE emergency.

Why pay them? They are only there to feather their own nests and interfere unnecessarily. If you stop paying them they won’t have time to interfere and will have to do some real work. Just wish we could run the same petition on the 650 parasites we call Parliament.
