While sitting on the couch… I wondered if I should get up and clean my bathroom. It is a rather large bathroom and I worry about mold and mildew. Particularly after Bou’s problems with mildew. I know they have mold killer you can buy but I would rather not have mold to start with in my house. Hmmm. Now I think I’ll stop and go eat some chips and salsa. I need a break.
Pictures of the boys and Halloween trick or treating in a day or two!

Sigh. Not one single bike ride so far. I still have the weekend. I can’t resist looking at different diet sites right now. I found a site that does diet reviews. It was interesting. It starts out with two people talking to you. While I find that annoying on most sites because you can’t shut them up… this one did give me the opportunity to turn it off. Yaaa!
It has a nice search right at the top. Yep… I liked that. I could search on all types of diet, including ones like Jenny Craig. It listed the positives and negatives about the program, they had comments on Thumbs up or Thumbs down, and over a hundred comments you can review just about Jenny Craig.
They also have information about different products like Nuphedrine® and Miracleburn® which are popular right now… On the right hand side, there is a pulldown with a list of all the different products you can read about on the site. In fact, I stopped counting at 400. That’s right, over 400 products listed.
If you are brave, you can look at the before and after pictures. I was afraid I was going to see someone who looks like me over there… but I couldn’t resist and took a peek. It was interesting because it had the information on the weight before, the weight after and which diet they used. Along with links back to the writeups on that product. Cool.
Ok, back to looking over the kids Halloween candy and reminding myself it is not mine. GRIN

Some days I need my head examined more closely. Tater gave a speech today on a book he read. I was proud of him. I didn’t realize that the teacher was going to take the written notes he used to make his speech… so no copy of that for you. Maybe I’ll get it back next week and then I’ll post it! The book he read was “20,000 Baseball Cards under the Sea“. He had to give a short report on it and then either dress up from something in the book or have a food goodie or both. A friend of my Hubby lives in Phillie… you can’t really see the Phillies shirt that Tater is wearing but he has it on… and he passed out Oreo cookies… since they were round like baseballs (and his favorite cookie).
Here is a picture of him while he is giving his speech (click to enlarge) :

Here it is after the speech, holding up baseball cards, book and a sample oreo pack:

Unknown to me, Dad said he could pass out the cards. Tater told me he could trade the cards. I couldn’t figure out what was going on and we ended up bringing them back home. Oops. Such is life.
What I don’t have pictures of is the Slime we made. After the speeches, they had their Halloween party. They painted pumpkins, made popcorn hands, tried to guess what was in some jars, decorated cookies and made slime. I volunteered to help the kids make slime. They loved it. I loved it. I only had 3 to 5 kids at a shot and they were fairly well behaved. Yep, I can handle that. I got the recipe HERE (and it is called Gak). I was not totally prepared and had to wing it some, but it worked out great. Other than the long trip to the cafeteria to get hot water. Didn’t think about the fact that there was a sink nearby but they didn’t have hot water to it. Still… that is a great way to make slime and fun.
Today is Tot’s party. And they are suppose to have a parade. I can’t wait. The kids are allowed to wear non-scary costumes to school… and there will be parties and a parade and tons of fun. I’m looking forward to it!

The last couple of days have been real busy around here. I still can’t believe it is only a day away to Halloween!!! Here are some pictures of us making Ghosts for our front porch:

I’ll have to get more pictures of the front porch at dusk tomorrow… until then, I wanted you to know that they boys did NOT run from me when I took out the pumpkin guts this year. Sigh… Each boy drew a picture on the pumpkin…

Both helped take out ’seeds’… no they wouldn’t touch it nor take out anything else.

Here is Tot’s side:

I got interrupted on Tater’s side… I’ll get more pictures later:

UPDATE: After buying some Christmas tins at a garage sale to use to give away some baked goods… I realized I still didn’t have any Halloween tins. And came up with a great idea… they would be perfect for handing out candy! Yo, Sis… maybe next year I can get you one? I know you get a ton of kids.
I have been craving something salty lately. Usually I eat potato chips or Tostidos… but lately I have been eating popcorn. I usually just eat the microwave kind that you get at the store… There are some good popcorns out there, I have eaten them. Until I started eating it again, I haven’t thought about it. When I was younger, I remember eating popcorn someone gave us from the Popcorn Factory. It was good… if memory serves me right, it was the caramel corn. Yummy.
It is getting to be that time of year again. Have you ever given Popcorn gift baskets? Not me. I just don’t think about it. Not sure why. I like eating it if given to me. I also collect tins. Most of the time the popcorn comes in tins. Hmmm. I have tins from all over the world and mostly for the winter season. I do not have tins for Halloween. I’ll have to see if the Popcorn Factory have any tins I like and then sweet talk my hubby into getting some. He is a huge popcorn eater and I’ll let him have most of the popcorn if I can have the tin. Sounds like a good deal to me. How about you?

FOOTBALL AND THE BLONDE……
Out of all the blonde jokes, this one has to be the best!
Football FINALLY makes sense……….
A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team’s bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience.
“Oh, I really liked it,” she replied, “especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn’t understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents.”
Dumbfounded, her date asked, “What do you mean?”
“Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: ‘Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!’ I’m like…Helloooooo? It’s only 25 cents!!!!’”

QUESTIONS THAT HAUNT ME!
Can you cry under water?

Tot has gone from being my son that needed blackout curtains to a child afraid of the dark. We have been working on this for a couple of weeks now. Talking about the shadows looking different, the noises and what they really are and now for some odd questions… The one he hit me with tonight was “What happens when someone comes out of the TV and into my room?” Yaa, I had a *blink* moment. I explained how the TV was electricity and people can’t jump out of the TV. Never. Then he went on with the “What if they opened the TV and stepped out?”. I talked about the inside of the TV and how it just is not physically possible.
Later, I mention it to my hubby. He reminds me there is a commercial now were they are showing the ghostly hand coming from the TV to the little girl (I believe it is from the movie Poltergeist) for some tv service… I think it is Direct TV. Great. Just what I need for my kids to see when they are having problems with the night. Hubby also reminded me they have seen videos of themselves… yep, I think I’ll be pulling some of those out and showing him how it works.
Another day, another night. We made it!!!!

Folks, I don’t like waffles… nor am I particularly fond of pancakes. But my boys love them. I decided to use my george foreman grill and give the waffles a shot. Hey this should be considered
healthy cooking for my boys. They ate them. Even my hubby. My husband asked me if I tried them yet. That would be “No”. I asked if they were ok and he said yes but a little ’soft’. Guess I didn’t cook them long enough. Are waffles suppose to be crunchy? They looked done to me. Live and learn. I put this here so in the future when all my kids remember are the days I made them do homework… I can say that I also made them waffles… not just those frozen things.
