Well, maybe they do in other houses, but not in mine. Then again if I didn’t let them eat in the living room or the dining room, this wouldn’t be a problem. The question is what is the best way to handle carpet cleaning with two boys around? There are quite a few companies willing to come out and clean for you. Most I am sure are reasonable. We used professionals when we moved from our house. It made the house look much better than what I did on my own. I tried to follow the industry standards of getting your carpets cleaned… what are the standards I followed? 1. Vacuum up all the stuff, 2. Spot clean, 3. Steam Clean, 4. Let it dry BEFORE walking on it again. The industry of course does much better…

I did noticed ads lately having the professionals with more steps. That is why they do a better job. There is the ‘preconditioning of the carpet’, the moving of stuff off the carpet and back on after it is dry… I’m lucky to keep the kids off of it long enough for it to dry.

I like the smell and how clean the carpet is after a professional has cleaned it. I like how it has that new carpet feel to it. In fact I got a call today from the one I used before… I don’t have the money now as I am saving for Christmas, but I told them to call me after the holidays. More likely to need them and have the money.
