What a whirlwind it has been. From my premie to my bigboy. You are Five today. Five. Five very long, hard years. The 3 days of hospitalization for croup, the asthma, the temper tandrums. After all these years you keep trying it out. Just because I would go crazy when you were younger trying to keep you from crying too hard, doesn’t mean I haven’t changed. I know I have medicine to stop the asthma attack and some very good hospitals near by. You might as well give them up.

Please don’t give up on the wonderful hugs, that bright beautiful smiles and that sweet hello you can give. Or when I walk into your room and find you reading a book… I love it all. From this (which was right before they put the iv in ya):
