Bubbles in October

Posted by: vw bug    in Tater, Tot

Notice the nice green lawn in the background. It has been raining here. And Raining, and raining… My grass is suppose to be going dormant. Ok Ok, I titled this bubbles and started off talking about grass. I couldn’t resist. I looked at the pictures and totally got off track. In the meantime, the boys have been enjoying the green grass and warm weather.

They decided to play bubbles together. I believe the big bubbles where suppose to be the ‘bad guy spaceships’ and the little bubbles are suppose to be the fighters going after them. Click on the pictures to enlarge them!

Some Things About Politics Confuse Me

Posted by: vw bug    in politics

I saw over at Decrepit Old Fool that the Chicago Tribune was going to endorse Obama. Which wasn’t a big deal in general to me… so what if this was the first democrat they sponsored in who knows when… what bothers me is this quote:

Granted, it’s disappointing that Obama’s mix of tax cuts for most people and increases for the wealthy would create an estimated $2.9 trillion in federal debt.

And that is just a ‘disappointment’… Sigh… I just don’t get it people. I just don’t understand.

Where Those Phone Calls Come From…

Posted by: vw bug    in pd

Sometimes I get phone calls from area codes I don’t recognize. It annoys me. Then I found the Area Code Locator site. I had some fun checking out the different area codes to see what the next 3 digits to the phone numbers would be and if the match from state to state. Guess it is the number person in me that couldn’t resist. The answer is…

Yes, it goes from 200 to 999. I was surprised to see xxx-555-xxxx listed.

Being me… I clicked on Missouri area code 417. Then I scrolled down and found 417-555 and clicked on it. This brought me to the Reverse Phone Lookup and I tried 417-555-1212 to see what city and state it would be attached to… and the answer is… Springfield, MO. That’s when I noticed the MO for Missouri. I realized this site could also be used to find the abbreviation for those states I can’t ever remember.

I also realized you could type the phone number in with dashes or not. It is a smart enough system to figure it out. This is for the United States only, which helps since that limits what numbers they are going to get. Still, it includes Delaware… which I thought was pretty cool.

I did notice that when I used the AreaCodeLocator.org site, that the Reverse Phone Lookup took you to a different site. No problem, I just like to be aware when I’m playing around. Also, if you continue with the Reverse Phone Lookup, it will cost you some money to get all the information. I don’t usually need to go that far, so this will work great for me. Now I have a post on it, so I can always do a quick look in my blog to find it. Phew… .
