Cleaner Bathroom?

Posted by: vw bug    in Family

While sitting on the couch… I wondered if I should get up and clean my bathroom. It is a rather large bathroom and I worry about mold and mildew. Particularly after Bou’s problems with mildew. I know they have mold killer you can buy but I would rather not have mold to start with in my house. Hmmm. Now I think I’ll stop and go eat some chips and salsa. I need a break.

Missed Biking This Week

Posted by: vw bug    in Mom, pd

Sigh. Not one single bike ride so far. I still have the weekend. I can’t resist looking at different diet sites right now. I found a site that does diet reviews. It was interesting. It starts out with two people talking to you. While I find that annoying on most sites because you can’t shut them up… this one did give me the opportunity to turn it off. Yaaa!

It has a nice search right at the top. Yep… I liked that. I could search on all types of diet, including ones like Jenny Craig. It listed the positives and negatives about the program, they had comments on Thumbs up or Thumbs down, and over a hundred comments you can review just about Jenny Craig.

They also have information about different products like Nuphedrine® and Miracleburn® which are popular right now… On the right hand side, there is a pulldown with a list of all the different products you can read about on the site. In fact, I stopped counting at 400. That’s right, over 400 products listed.

If you are brave, you can look at the before and after pictures. I was afraid I was going to see someone who looks like me over there… but I couldn’t resist and took a peek. It was interesting because it had the information on the weight before, the weight after and which diet they used. Along with links back to the writeups on that product. Cool.

Ok, back to looking over the kids Halloween candy and reminding myself it is not mine. GRIN

Baseball Cards and Slime

Posted by: vw bug    in Tater, Tot

Some days I need my head examined more closely. Tater gave a speech today on a book he read. I was proud of him. I didn’t realize that the teacher was going to take the written notes he used to make his speech… so no copy of that for you. Maybe I’ll get it back next week and then I’ll post it! The book he read was “20,000 Baseball Cards under the Sea“. He had to give a short report on it and then either dress up from something in the book or have a food goodie or both. A friend of my Hubby lives in Phillie… you can’t really see the Phillies shirt that Tater is wearing but he has it on… and he passed out Oreo cookies… since they were round like baseballs (and his favorite cookie).

Here is a picture of him while he is giving his speech (click to enlarge) :

Here it is after the speech, holding up baseball cards, book and a sample oreo pack:

Unknown to me, Dad said he could pass out the cards. Tater told me he could trade the cards. I couldn’t figure out what was going on and we ended up bringing them back home. Oops. Such is life.

What I don’t have pictures of is the Slime we made. After the speeches, they had their Halloween party. They painted pumpkins, made popcorn hands, tried to guess what was in some jars, decorated cookies and made slime. I volunteered to help the kids make slime. They loved it. I loved it. I only had 3 to 5 kids at a shot and they were fairly well behaved. Yep, I can handle that. I got the recipe HERE (and it is called Gak). I was not totally prepared and had to wing it some, but it worked out great. Other than the long trip to the cafeteria to get hot water. Didn’t think about the fact that there was a sink nearby but they didn’t have hot water to it. Still… that is a great way to make slime and fun.

Today is Tot’s party. And they are suppose to have a parade. I can’t wait. The kids are allowed to wear non-scary costumes to school… and there will be parties and a parade and tons of fun. I’m looking forward to it!
