Fun In Florida

Someone just mentioned to me that they were headed down to Key West FL! I remember how much fun I had with my husband when we went down there… before children. I was thinking about the fact they were taking their kids to Key West. Would I take my kids down there? When they get a little older, I certainly would. Both are getting be great swimmers… and there is great snorkling down there.

I also remember when hubby and I went biking around the area. It was beautiful. I remember the Hemmingway House and the Audubon House. We didn’t make it to the Aquarium but if we went with the kids, I’m sure that would be a place for us to stop. Or maybe an Eco-Tour or a glass bottom boat tour. I would enjoy it. I love that kind of stuff. There are so many different types of plants, birds and fish in South Florida. Yep… I point that stuff out to my kids all the time. It would be even better if I was on a Key West Vacation!

Besides, I have a picture of me and hubby by the Old Buoy Used as Marker for the Furthest Point South in the United States… wouldn’t it be great to get it with the whole family? Ok Ok… I just needed to think of something fun today. And this just hit the spot. Again… I’ll probably wait until the boys are a little older… but being nearby… no plane trip, just a car ride… definitely on my agenda.

Good Grief, I don’t know if you remember this story… but, my husband and I were dating… and I believe it was my 25th birthday. He decided to surprise me with a trip. We showed up at the airport and he took me to Key West. We had THE BEST time. It was wonderful.

The trip was almost over and I said to my husband, “You know, they say that there are so many gay people in Key West, but I haven’t seen any….” to which he did a *blink* and said, “Bou, our taxi cab driver was gay, our bell hop was gay, our waiter was gay, the front desk clerk was gay…” Heh. Neither of us care about that stuff… but it was kind of funny.

Yaa, when we were biking by some houses, I loved the rainbow flags on them. I asked my hubby if we could buy one and put it on our house. I thought he was going to fall off his bike. He had to explain to me what it meant. Life is fun!
