When RTY was younger, she was amazed by the manatees hugging at sea world!

I’ve never seen stick bugs hugging before. Great pic! Thanks for posting it!

I saw a couple of huge bumble bees “hugging” a couple of weeks ago. Geez I felt like such a voyeur, but I’d never seen anything like it before, and it was really fascinating, watching this spectacle of nature “in action.”

My boys have never asked what they were doing… they just always said, “look! they are giving each other Piggy Back rides!” But now that T knows everything, he is quick to point out all the animals he has seen mate. Luckily, he has not added humans to that list…

AWTM: funny you mention that. Last year when we saw this same situation, I told both boys they were making babies and we would have to look out for the babies! This year… I swear a new brain has entered my body. I like the praying mantis idea… wonder if I can find a similar insect down here that does that.

WE have a praying mantis right now.

Yesterday we put a male in, the female, had her way with him, and then ate him…

I totally told them what she was was doing.

The Collective’s eyes were as big as saucers.
