Sleep, thy name is missing in my household…

Update #2: 11am… Tot is at 100F… phew… long day… long long day…
Update: 8:30am… Tot is at 102.8F… shoot me

What a long day yesterday was… and the night longer. Tot’s got an ear infection. They switched his antibiotic in the morning… and around 5pm last night he was running 104.4… I ran bath water… I always run warm water. Trust me, at 103 or higher, warm water is still cool to them. I checked with my doctor and he agreed. Besides, you keep them in there 10 minutes and by the end of the 10 minutes, it is pretty cool. Except this bath water was too warm. And there wasn’t much pressure. In fact, it turns out the only reason I got water was there was water in the hot water heater. Yep, I needed a plumber. My neighbor is a plumber. I called… and called… and called… I was freaking out. He finally called me back.

He was nice enough to stop by after work. We need a new pump. Sigh. I just got all the bills paid off. ugh. Guess I need to do some more paid posts.

oh did I mention my hubby? He was up most of the night. He coughed so hard a couple of times he threw up. Did I say we have no water? yaa… you are catching on aren’t you. The plumber fixed it enough that I can turn it on for short periods of times. But I better shut it back off.

I’m going to go hide in a corner for an hour. I’ll be back later. I have no choice. Tot is home with me. No fever this morning. Yipeee… now if it will just stay away.

Ah, the joys of being a family! :)

Sorry to hear about all the problems, but you know what? It will all work out eventually. And just think — at least you HAVE running water that can be repaired… :)

True, but many nights without sleep, it is hard to see the positive. Particularly since Tot is now up to 103.5F… sigh… the motrin is NOT working.

I know it’s tough, believe me. But you’re going to have to trust someone else to take care of that fever — there’s only so much we can do. And worry won’t help it!

    (Hmm… I’m trying to be uplifting and encouraging, but I’m not sure it’s working… :) )

I’m sure God is watching all of this and getting a good laugh. I am a very hyper person. When I see my boy start breathing hard because of fever, I freak wondering if it will set off his asthma… yaa… I need some sleep and some well children. ;-) I also know it will work out. I just need to keep doing what is right and it will be ok. Sometimes it is just nice to whine. GRIN

I am sorry you had those experiences. I am glad the fever subsided.

I got an A in HS physics because I was the only one in the class who answered that you could put a feverish child in warm water. Heh. I’m glad it works in real life and not just in theory. Hope Tot feels better soon so you can ALL get some sleep!
