I’m doing two separate posts on his stories for school. The first one he dictated to me and I wrote the ‘original’ and he then copied it and made changes as he saw fit. I only have the first page to show you because the teacher hung it up in the class for a while. I will type the whole story for your enjoyment. It was funny.
Now for the whole story:
One day on the moon an astronaut rat played a joke on a fox. The fox was about to eat the rat when the rat offered the fox a million fox dollars, but the rat lied. Then the rat made a gingerbread fox and boy. Rat gave the fox the gingerbread fox. The fox ate the gingerbread fox. The fox yelled at the rat, “You lied, you didn’t give me a million fox dollars! You only gave me a gingerbread fox.” The fox eats the rat. Then gingerbread boy comes looking for people so he can shoot cookies at them for $5. He runs into the fox. The fox wants to eat the gingerbread boy. He shoots four cookies into a moon rock tree and the fox goes after the cookies and the gingerbread boy runs away.
I laughed when he told it and laughed harder when I saw the finished product. That boy has some imagination.

Now the second story is harder to see… but I wanted you to see it took five pages for him to write this story. I did help with this one. We talked about it and created an outline together. From the outline he wrote this (with some questions asked from mom and dad to help him think it through):
Here is the story:
We have many Christmas traditions. One tradition is making gingerbread items. We have made gingerbread men, houses and Christmas trees. It is fun to eat the candy when I am making them. Another tradition is going to Mamaw’s house in Pensacola and opening gifts from her on Christmas eve. I like opening presents early. We put up Christmas lights and go look at other people’s Christmas lights at night. I like our house best because we decorate it ourselves. Another tradition is making a Christmas tree star and ornaments. My favorite tradition is making Christmas ornaments. I like using glitter glue to make them pretty. I like giving the to people. I put the ornaments on the Christmas tree to decorate it. Now I would like to show you some of the ornaments I have made over the years. * I also have this picture of me making the ornaments. * I love our traditions because we do it as a family. Now I will like to give everyone an ornament.
He put stars in it to remind himself to stop and get the stuff to show to the classroom. I attended his reading of the story to his class. He read slowly, kept the paper down so it wasn’t in front of his face. I was very proud of him. I have a video of him, and nw I have a video converter… I have to figure out where to put the videos. I want to ‘password’ protect them and send links to family without them having to sign up to goodness knows what. Any suggestions?
For a kid who h.a.t.e.s to write… he has great stories.

My hubby was looking at gaming chairs for the boys. No, not for playing games, but for getting them off the couch. They take over the whole thing. If we are going to get new seating, how about home theater seating? We could just redo the entire living room for all of us. Hmmm… then he might want a new TV, new speakers. Naaa. I don’t like the way this is going. But still… if they didn’t know it was ‘home theater’. That just might work. GRIN

I went crazy buying watches this Holiday season for gifts. I did not buy Nooka watches but that was because I didn’t see them at Sears when I was shopping. I got Hannah Montana and Tinkerbell watches to give out. It was rather fun. I love watches, they just don’t love me. I am having to replace batteries in them every 3 months. I once had a watch that was self winding and I loved it. But I lost it and I can’t find another one like. Maybe one day.
What one gift did you have a tendency to buy this holiday season?
