Wonder if anyone noticed I was gone? No? Oh well… I had a great time… and it was nice to get home. While sorting through my 50 something emails … I found this from my mom and it really hit home.
Wolves, and a wise old Indian
The Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, ‘My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.
One is Evil.
It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
The other is Good.
It is joy, peace , love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence,
empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.
The grandson thought about it for a minute
And then asked his grandfather: ‘Which wolf wins?’
The old Cherokee simply replied,
Lately my life has been rough. I have had a lot of physical issues along with trying to raise a family. This weekend was a wonderful retreat with a great friend and helped me get my self back in prospective with life. I will still yell at my kids to stop hitting each other and no running in the library… but I will also try to be more sympathetic and more snuggly. Because it has hurt to be hugged or bumped or.. you get the idea, I have not exactly been available for my boys. I have started to change this as of yesterday.
I want to thank everyone for their good thoughts and prayers. I am sure that has helped tremendously. Thank you again!
