Recently I ran across an ad for POS systems and thought why would any one put an ad out for a Piece of Sh.t system???? People buy that stuff???? Ok, I had to click on it and take a look. Uhhh… it was Point of Sale systems. Oops.
What can I say. It is a matter of perspective as to what the acronym means to you. I remember when I worked for a large company that dealt in engines and then moved to a large company that dealt in telecommunications… that there were similar acronyms that meant different things. It was very confusing the first year. Ten years with engines was hard to leave behind…
Here’s one that seems to be every where… ADC… what does that mean to you?
Analog to Digital Converter? Automated Data Collection? Air Defense Command? Adult Day Care? Alzheimer’s Disease Center?
Geeze, even ATM can mean different things to people… Automatic Teller Machine or is it Asynchronous Transfer Mode?
