Remember a post a couple of days ago about me wanting to be a bookkeeper. I had linked to a site I saw. One of things I liked about it was the following:
Jesuit universities are renowned for their academic rigor. Being true to the internal integrity of an academic subject is necessary to mold graduates that can effectively confront challenges.
Our students don’t just memorize material, instead they reach a personal understanding. Our graduates are able to discuss the subject matter in depth; write and speak with excellence; and, engage in public debate on the issues that matter.
Very few schools are willing to say something like that. Much less something like:
Many of the top ranked programs are reluctant to go online because they feel that this diminishes the quality of the education. Gonzaga finds the exact opposite, because it allows experienced professionals the opportunity for an advanced educations, who may otherwise not be able to because of professional or personal commitments.
It is nice to see a school who is ranked 3rd by the US News for Master Universities in the West say they think that you can get quality education online. While I do believe at some point it is nice to have a face to face with someone, I do not think it completely necessary. For some of my technical certifications, online was perfect.
I thought it odd that they have a Master’s in organizational leadership. Then I read it. Very cool. If I was considering getting an Online master degree, I must say I would check out this college again. If they took the time to put that much information out on their website about their classes… I think it would be worth an effort to check them out just to see if their teachers and online are just as interesting. Too bad they don’t offer bookkeeping!
sounds great to me
and with skype and such these days, on line doesn’t exclude some level of face to face…
I say that he/she who stops learning is dead so you might as well learn something you can enjoy, especially if you can fit it in between mediating the offspring and kissing boo boos!

Jesuit schools are really the cream of the crop. I was pushing my nephew to go Jesuit. I think Holy Cross and maybe Georgetown are Jesuit. He went to UF, but he was definitely Jesuit caliber.
Yaa… I thought their site was outstanding. Now if I could just make money grow on my tree outback.
