Another year come and almost gone. The boys were up at 5:30am and are already driving me nuts. They wanted to know how to set up a backgammon board… by the time I got the answer, they had set up a checkers board. Then fussed over which they were going to play. I stopped it by fixing breakfast! Food helps the brain work.
I hope we have a wonderful time today… it has gotten warmer again and will allow us to go out and play play play! As long as we can keep the youngest from falling and rolling into rivers and falling out of trees. Maybe I ought to get a couple of pictures. He has two scratches from his underarm to his waist from the tree limb that got him when he fell out of the tree. Luckily, no head injuries from the ‘river roll’ though his head almost hit a rock. Yaa, it has been a busy week.

It’s hard to get your kid to sleep when he won’t stop talking. He wants to design pokemon when he gets older. He will be making us a transporter. Most of my family and friends are excited about it. He might be able to do it. That boy is amazing. Though I would suggest he get a good quote on life insurance rates. I can see him getting blown up with the stuff he does. Actually, maybe it should be me that gets the insurance.
I tried to help him with a Myth Busters gift that Tink gave him… and I’m the one that got soaked with vinegar and baking soda. Here we are getting started…

It splattered all over me and by the time I got it upright it only went up about 2 feet. We’ll try it again but when it is a little warmer. It’s COLD this morning. The weather channel says it feels like 41F. I have been living here too long. I’m COLD.
While I love my children dearly… it has been a long week. I am ready for them to be apart from me for a while. I miss my down time. Between the sinus surgery, the holidays and the school days off… I’m beat. I have had time, don’t get me wrong… but my house is a mess and I can’t keep up with it. My nerves are frayed and I can’t go bike riding yet or do karate or any fun stuff to get my frustration level down.
One more week. Hopefully the ENT will give the all clear for bike riding today. Wish me luck! I need something…

Christmas cards are still sitting by the couch un-addressed. The kids are checking out all the cool stuff they got. Youngest is trying to learn how to play the drums on Rock Band 2 for the Wii. My head hurts.

At 6am I hear a little voice saying “Tomorrow is Christmas, TODAY IS CHRISTMAS EVE!”. I am wondering what tomorrow will be like. Why? Not the cute voice, but because they already had fists raised, taking stuff from one another. And it was barely 7am. Fed them and it seems to be better. Phew. I hope your day is restful and fun.

Seems that the holiday season has struck our house… literally. The boys are striking one another. I had to set up some rules. Do something nice and you get a nice point. Point out that your brother did something nice and you both get nice points. Tattle on your brother (with no blood or marks involved) and you both get naughty points. Mom has to discipline you, you get two naughty points. At the end of the day, Santa gets called with an update.
Today we actually had more nice points than naughty points. But I was VERY lenient with them. Three more days seem VERY long … good thing I made that fudge yesterday.
I tried my hand at Craig’s list. I sold one of my baby strollers. I went online and looked at baby strollers to see what a decent price would be for my set. Wow. The improvements they have made in seven years is unbelievable. Have you looked to see what you can get in strollers? They have some with “great suspension to help absorb bumps”… and all the storage… including pockets for your cellphone.
I will be surprised if I can sell my other stroller even for spare parts. Yes I had more than one stroller. My single stroller I sold, my double stroller I still have… need to get this stuff out of my garage! It takes up space! I would give it to a friend if they had kids… but most of my friends are done. This just gives me more to do as the new year progresses.
Many of you have had calls from me asking what program you use for backing up your data. A couple of you have mentioned online backup of data. I have two external hard drives and see no reason to backup online right now. Then again, I can’t find a decent backup service between my external drives and my internal drives. The ones that come with Maxtor suck. It is incremental but when you go to restore it you must do it YOURSELF. The incremental causes more pain and suffering on the restore.
Yes, this means I have lived and learned my lesson. Still looking though. Sigh…
