I am always looking for places to give the few dollars I have… I finally found the ‘Bike Man’ and got rid of a 12″ bike. I give $5 here and $5 there to hospice, valour IT, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training®, and some close to home. I think I spent over $50 on Toys for Tots. Now someone sent me another link that I will keep in my back pocket for sending donations. The quote from their site is:
Supporting America’s military in their time of need, we provide “a home away from home” that enables family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time — during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.
It’s called the Fisher House. A friend that has retired from the military sent it to me. I think this is another way I can help out. I can’t do a lot for any one organization, but over the course of months I can give a little to different ones. And I make sure my kids know that I’m doing it. I just wish everyone could do the same. Give just a little to their favorite charities… then maybe we wouldn’t need the government to ‘bale us out’ all the time. Sigh… but that is for a whole other post on another day.
All excellent charities! That’s giving in the true sense of the season!
