Spring Break. Starts at 2pm today when the school bell rings for dismissal. I’m not ready. Seriously. Usually I have science experiments lined up, playdates, and writing assignments. Nothing. Nada. If I keep this up I’m going to need to look at life insurance rates at Wholesale Insurance because the kids will drive me to my death. The oldest and I are at odds. Just about every day. Ok, every day there are writing assignments. We are making his life easier but he is still stressing. What over? I can’t figure it out yet. Certainly not his times table because that he seems to have memorized like Pokemon names. I asked him about his writing assignments and got the “No big deal mom” in response. Though there is a young girl at school that is telling him some horrible stories about goblins coming to get him. My response was probably not the best. I told him to tell her, they came, he used karate on them and now they are headed to her house. And I wonder where my son gets his attitude???? sigh. 10 days of children. Children I love but no break for mom. I wonder what I can get them to do… hmmmmm

go to the library and check out the book by John Lithgow, something to the effect of a Lithgowpalooza. Lots and lots and lots of kid ideas. Or, drive north 3 hours and borrow my copy!
