One Happy Dog Speaks

It is going to be a busy weekend. Saturday is martial arts, buy a birthday gift, go to a birthday party… do homework in-between. Sunday is the Triathlon. Both boys will be in it. I’m very proud of my boys. I think it is great that they are willing to give this a try. I hope they have fun.

Yep, the post is later than usual because I got to sleep in until 6am. It is a holiday, Rosh HaShanah. My understanding is that is the Jewish New Year. A time of reflection and to wish those you meet that they have a good year. I like that. Not being jewish, I’m sure there is a lot more to this. But from my limited understanding… I hope you have a good year!

A Catholic, a Protestant, a Muslim and a Jew were in a discussion during a dinner.

Catholic: “I have a large fortune….I am going to buy Citibank!”

Protestant: “I am very wealthy and will buy General Motors!”

Muslim: “I am a fabulously rich prince…. I intend to purchase Microsoft!”

They then all wait for the Jew to speak….

The Jew stirs his coffee, places the spoon neatly on the table, takes a sip of his coffee, looks at them and casually says:

“I’m not selling!!!…”

Chicken. Chicken. And more chicken. I’m tired of chicken. Ok, not really but I’m tired of coming up with recipes for chicken. What I like takes too long to cook. Or maybe I’m just too tired lately. Which ever it is… I’m done with chicken. Oh, and I had chicken for dinner last night and I’m fixing chicken for dinner tonight. UGH. Any suggestions?

Actually yesterday was a nice day. Relaxing over all. The boys worked out with mom and dad… then dad took them for a run… while it was sprinkling. That is much more enjoyable than the 90F heat and 95% humidity. Ugh. It has been an exceptionally hot September… Ok, maybe not, but it is hot to me.

The only thing that really got to me was the lack of shorts in the stores. It’s Florida. It’s 90F outside and there are no shorts in the stores. Just jeans. My youngest decided to grow. He has outgrown his shorts and needs some more. And there are none to be found. Sigh. What is the idea… this is not a place that it gets that cold… and they put up all the beach toys. I would like to know who makes these decisions. Then again, maybe not. It would just frustrate me. Ok, off to search the web for a store that is nearby but has shorts online. Because I can’t try them on my son, I’ll have to order them, have them try them and then take them back if they don’t fit. ARGH.

Seems that I mentioned earlier about not seeing any babies around me and what happens? I am checking out some links on the internet and find UppAbaby Cruz strolllers. Now you can flip the stroller seat to have the kid face you. Poor kid. I think my kids loved being to see and take in all the stuff around them while strolling… they got to see me all the other times. GRIN. Still it amazes me what you can buy for babies. Maybe all that stuff was there when I had kids and I just didn’t realize it (I can be pretty oblivious sometimes).

Sigh… now my attention needs to get back to scouts. I have to figure out what we are going to do for the next den meeting!!!

Yep, the oldest is interested in music. Drums. Ok, actually he was interested in Bass Guitar but I convinced him to pick something else. So it was drums. He is pretty decent. That made me very happy. Drums, nto so happy… very noisy. Still, it is a musical instrument and I’ll take it. Here is a picture from the private lesson I’m getting him (before camera+):

He is doing a great job. Let’s just hope he stays interested.

Been thinking about getting older, kids and more. Which made me think about the things I use to get my hubby for his birthday… Before Children (BC)… that is… one thing he would get is birthday flowers sent to his office, along with tickets to Panther hockey games. Now? It is the easy stuff. Things the kids make, stuff we need around the house and occasionally something fun. This year I think he is going to be surprised. It is rather romantic. Let’s cross our fingers!

Back in August my boys joined the local swim team. It’s three days a week. Lucky for me it is right after school. And the boys are having a blast. It is helping them get in shape.
