My son had a project. He had to create a Pizza box about a president. He picked President Ford. Luckily a friend had a book with a couple of pages on him. And a GREAT picture. We enlarged it for the top of the box…
And the inside top had to have interesting facts about him… and a pizza. Each slice had to have a topic sentence and three supporting facts in the pepperoni. Now mind you… we had some really cool facts that had to be rewritten into little tiny five or less word sentences. I just hope they are grammatically correct!
Why? Because I took his long sentences and made them into little sentences. He wanted to write “Fromme was shaking hands with him when she tried to shoot him with a gun with no bullets.” What he wrote with my help was “Fromme tried to shoot him but had no bullets.” That almost didn’t fit.
He had fun and I learned a lot about President Ford. I feel for those that got the really old presidents with little about them. Eek.
