For me, I remember this day… because I had a co-worker next to me in shock. She had family in New York and one of her relatives worked in the Twin Towers. Then I discovered about 10 of the co-workers around me had all come from the Manhattan area. They had transferred from the office up there to the office down here. It was the oddest sensation.
The best feeling was when she finally heard later that day her relative was safe. It was like we could all breath again. You didn’t even realize how tense and worried you were.
There are problems and issues all over the world but this was different for me. This was here in the USA. This effected people around me. I felt lucky that none of my family was there at the time. Yet, I still worried for my friend and her family. I talked to her over the course of the day. Checking in to see if I could bring her something.
The world slowly forgets things. Which is why seem destined to repeat ourselves. I hope that this is not forgotten and that everyone remembers that it takes a strong military, a strong government and a strong set of independent people to keep a country going. A strong military and government means that they have the fire power and ability to go after those who hurt our nation in my eyes.
May we live the following years in Peace and if not, may we have the ability to stop those that would hurt our love ones.
