As of yesterday, both boys rode their bikes WITHOUT training wheels and hauled b.u.t.t. down the road. I am very very proud of them. Here are some pictures… first the oldest:

Next the youngest:

If we rode more often, it would have been sooner… but it doesn’t matter. Both boys can now ride their bikes with ease. We can go biking as a family now. I LOVE to bike ride. This makes my year!
It is amazing how astute some people can be… and how people, no matter how much technology, make the same mistakes over and over and over again… Take a look at these quotes from Thomas Jefferson… if he thought of them then… it was happening then… and look what is happening today…
“When we get piled upon one another in large cities,
as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“The democracy will cease to exist when you take
away from those who are willing to work and
give to those who would not.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own
debts as it goes. A principle which, if acted on,
would save one-half the wars of the world.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can
prevent the government from wasting the labors of
the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“My reading of history convinces me that most bad
government results from too much government.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“The strongest reason for the people to retain the
right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort,
to protect themselves from tyranny in government.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time
to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
…Thomas Jefferson
“To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the
propagation of ideas which he disbelieves
and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”
…Thomas Jefferson
Seriously… they are predicting snow as far south as Orlando. See THIS NEWS ARTICLE from one of the newspapers down this way. And I will quote it here in case it disappears:
Although the prediction of snow in Central Florida might strike some locals as an odd event, it’s not the first time snow flakes have made it into the forecast.
Light snow mixed with rain fell over Deltona, Lake Mary, Ponce Inlet, Ocoee and Orlando on Nov. 21, 2006. Residents living in Brevard and Volusia counties saw snow flurries blowing snow on the beaches on Jan. 24, 2003.
A heavy snow flurry in Jan. 1989 destroyed many sidewalks in Jacksonville because an inch of snow fell on nearly an inch of ice that covered the pavement.
The most famous incident of Arctic weather in Florida was when snow fell in Miami and other parts of South Florida in the morning hours of Jan. 19, 1977. The weather phenomenon was an international news event because of its oddity.
The excitement didn’t last long because the snow melted soon after falling. Weather conditions returned to normal the following day.
For many residents in Central Florida, frost has been spotted on cars and lawns for several days this week.
Forecasters said there is a 30 percent chance of showers today, mainly after 1 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy. The high is expected to reach 55, with a low around 35.
Chances of showers increase in the evening hours.
Keep a watch for possible snow flurries and sleet in the overnight hours through 11 a.m. Saturday.

It amazes me the number of friends I have that celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah… I’m just happy we celebrate one. It was a blast decorating this year. I was not allowed to bend over, so I sat on the floor getting the ornaments out of boxes for the boys. Look at this busy crew!

Don’t you love the underwear hanging out? He doesn’t even realize it.

Intense concentration… got to get it to stay on the tree…

Couldn’t resist trying to get Mamaw in a picture. She put up our little tiny angel until we could find our topper.

It was a wonderful time.
Been a wee bit behind in posting about the kids. Worried about this surgery coming up today. I wrote some posts that HOPEFULLY will get out each day. Nope, not going to answer many comments or emails. Nothing like having a bone spur taken out of your sinuses and getting the deviated septum straightened to make your life entertaining for a few days.
One of my holiday traditions is decorating gingerbread houses with the boys. No different this year. Enjoy the pictures!

The finished product!

It was fun and the boys ate all the candy decorations off their houses after Thanksgiving. Life is good.
Yesterday was interesting. Tater did not want to do his work and Tot realized that walking on egg shells was the better way to go. In the end, Tater did quite well and realized that getting his work done without complaining was a better solution. Why is it that they have to push the limits so hard some days? My poor husband caught the brunt of it when he got home. I kept repeating myself about all the stuff … I was so frustrated. And they wonder why I want them to go to school… Ok, life is not horrible but some days it is easier than others.
The highlight of my morning was listening to Bones give a dialogue. I can’t wait to see it when he gets expressive. His face was already making changes in some places. He is going to be fantastic at it. Poor Bou is going to have her hands full as he gets to be a teenager. The drama. Oh boy. I can’t wait to hear about it!
Which should be running and biking and playing… is well… playing inside on the nintendos. This picture below was from last week when Tot was getting over having fluid in his lungs:

Nothing like hanging with your brother.
I hope this asthma gets it’s b.u.t.t kicked and we can go play more. Then again, I’m not exactly running on all cylinders. At least I’m able to get a couple of pictures uploaded and available for viewing!
Now if I could just find a good backup software that allows to external drives to back up from one to the other that is cheap… to make sure I don’t lose my pictures…
I have been wrapped up in my own life this week trying to keep my youngest from getting walking pneumonia… but that doesn’t mean I didn’t add a prayer this morning for all those people who lost lives during the 9/11 tragedy and to all the military that have supported us since… in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran… and more. I have not forgotten…

While the oldest is home, I realized I didn’t want to put on music. Usually I crank up some old tunes or some smooth jazz. I was afraid since he gets distracted so easily… one more thing wouldn’t help. Now is the time I would like to have one of those Mp3 players you see everyone using. I could put it on, tune him out and get my housework done. I could take it to the gym. I suddenly am seeing a load of possibilities. Of course, my phone can play music but it seems to be a pain to get it set up. Sigh… guess I might load some Jimmy Buffet on it and see if that helps. Ya ya ya… I heard the buzzer for the laundry as well. Off to finish ANOTHER load of laundry. I swear I should make a chart so I can see my accomplishments. See I did 12 loads of laundry, cleaned the bathrooms 7 times, mopped up vomit 4 times… ugh… back to work… and instead… maybe I will use AWTM’s idea… a Brownie Sash.
