Got that line from Bou! After we talked about the boys getting Dad a nintendo DSi for Father’s day. We now all have a DS of some type. Whoopeee… The boys love it. We sat around playing Mario Cart together. We were all on the same team. Dad kicked butt!
Here is the table, all ready for Dad to get home from work (and yes the flowers are from my garden!):

Here’s Tater helping Dad move along in the gift opening department:

Tater can’t resist showing Dad how to play the games:

And the only reason I am not in this picture is because I got up to get the camera… two minutes earlier and you would have found me sitting beside Tot with my DS in front of me!

It is interesting how they pick one day a year to remind people of different things. I use to have the attitude that I celebrate it all the time, why bother with one day… and now my attitude has changed. While we do special things for dad all the time during the year… I want the boys to have a day to on the calendar that helps them focus. Something they can look at and be prepared for…
I asked them this morning what they liked about their dad…
Tater said “I like that dad loves me”
Tot said “I like it when dad kisses me goodbye in the mornings”
We made a big banner yesterday and argued over what to buy dad. They wanted to get him a nintendo DS… I told them dad wanted a new TV and dad needs to pick that himself. They wanted to get him a new computer. I repeated the TV deal… they just smiled and said, ok, then let’s get him a DS. hahahaha. I guess they are getting focused.
Dad is working this weekend… all weekend. I am hoping he can take a break and have lunch with us today… but it doesn’t matter. I told the boys if we couldn’t celebrate this Sunday, we would do it next Sunday.
My husband is a wonderful father. Very caring and very involved. The boys love him and it shows. I hope when we do get to celebrate he has a great day!

Some conversations I really can do without hearing… like this one from last night:
Tot: I want some orange juice
Dad: You want Fart Juice? **proceeds to fart**
Tot: NOOOOOOOO… I want orange juice
Dad: Ok, more Fart Juice?
Tot: NOOOOOOOOO… Orange Juice!!!
Dad: *laughing* sure, fart juice it is.
Tot: NOOOOOOOOOO… you can have some butt juice
Mom leaves the kitchen… It is a male thing.

I just spoke to VW and she is fine. She feels like crap, but she’s fine.
I’ll take her feeling like crap any day over any of the other possibilities. What she didn’t mention on her post was the urologist had gone through various possibilities that could have caused her kidney to be in the shape it was in… polyps, cancer, and kidney stones.
So she left a message for me on my cell that day and if I’d not been worried enough about her, that made me sit up, take notice, and… go directly to Google to figure out if she could really have something has horrible as kidney cancer.
I called her back and said, “Unless you’ve had high exposure to cadmium or it runs in your family, or you’re a male between the ages of 50 and 70, its slim that its cancer. Besides, it can’t be because, making this about me, *I* can’t deal with the thought that that’s what it is. So… I’m sure its kidney stones.”
And it was. Thankfully… because as painful and awful as kidney stones are the other alternative was just unthinkable.
So she is on her way home right now, stopping by CVS where the pharmacist will be her new best friend in providing her with what she needs with good rest and no pain.
I know she’s happy and her family is ecstatic that she will be fine. But just after them, is me. I come in a very close third…
