My sister, Tink, calls me on the phone and asked me where catercorner came from… So I went to dictionary.com and looked it up. This is what it said: Origin: 1830–40; dial. cater (adv.) diagonally (prob. to be identified with obs. cater four < MF quatre < L quattuor ) + cornered
From there it went to caterwaul. And now cattywampus. Like I needed to know all of these things. NOT. Now I have more useless information in my head. Thanks sis… NOT.
Tink is very creative and very sweet. I am doing the yearbook for my kids school this year. I was suppose to just stick pictures in a program provided by the yearbook company. And then… I discovered it was much more than that. I went nuts and have totally stressed over it all.
The principle mentioned how cool it would be to have all 800+ students on the yearbook cover. I ran with it. What an entertaining adventure I never wish to repeat. The picture got taken by an aerial photographer from the top of a building with me screaming directions because I couldn’t work the bullhorn. Entertainment one oh one. No one could hear me.
The picture that looked the best… drove me nuts. Then my sister saved the day. She is a wizard at photo shop type of stuff. She moved the kid that was sticking out on the side, fixed the background, added the school logo and MORE. Geeze, I couldn’t have done half the stuff she did. She is making our book look Fun and Fantastic. Now I can get back to organizing sales, picture taking and eventually the putting of pictures into the program the yearbook company provides. This will also be the LAST time I do any big volunteer projects for schools. NO MORE.
I was looking through different stuff on the web and items I have been sent. I saw wrought iron candle sconces and thought that would be a cool gift for my sister. Her birthday is tomorrow… I think. It might have been today. I can’t ever get it straight. No joke. She loves candles and the like. Then again, you ought to see her house at Halloween. Scary. Yes, candles make me think of Halloween… even though you would think it would make me think of romance. Must be my sister’s influence.
Why am I so confused about what day is what? Most of my attention has been on my kids starting school this week. Yet, one sister is going in for surgery tomorrow, the other is out of town and getting a year older, and all of this keeps me one brain cell short. I just hope that I remember to call everyone and give out the right wishes. Phew… Now to go find some humor for tomorrow’s post…
Tink, my sister, put this on her blog:
WARNING: There will be a brief mention of certain female reproductive parts and another word for rear ends. If this will in any way embarrass or offend you, please do not read further.
This was because of what a four year old said… very funny post. Very funny! And HERE is the link to that post!
After reading Tink’s post and seeing her tree (you’ll have to scroll down to see how it is leaning and tied to the ceiling!)… I then saw this Garfield comic this afternoon… baw ha haha ha Now if I could figure out a way to change all her pictures and make all the trees and decorations crooked!!!!
Shhhh…. I stole the keys from the Bug. But I thought you all ought to know that even after 43 years she still can’t get my birthday right. Wrong, wrong, wrong BUG….. Tomorrow, the 19th I will be turning 51; don’t make me do it a day early. Try and remember next year
Go on over and wish her a happy birthday.
It’s always nice to know I have someone older than me… But even better, is I always have a sister who is there for me. Thanks for being a big sister and protecting me when I was younger and driving me crazy as we get older. And never really killing me when you had the chance. I know there were a couple of times I deserved it. Happiest of Birthdays Sis!
Just a quick thanks to Tink for letting everyone know how stupid I can be. GRIN. yaa… I screwed up all my passwords the other day to the point that one was sent to oblivion. But I’m back as of yesterday… I just forgot the thanks. Been a weee bit distracted… Enjoy!
Seems there is just a lot of fun stuff going around right now. I got a letter from Tink that she couldn’t post to her blog today. And she sent me in an email why she couldn’t post:

She was pissed and I was laughing. My sister? A Spammer?? baw hahhahha.. The tears still come to my eyes when I see this. And then the “Since you’re an actual person reading this, “… ohhh… I’m still snickering…
The whole point of this, besides getting another laugh, was to give those who read both of us a head’s up that she may not be posting much the next day or two until it is fixed.
Sounds like an odd title. But wRitErsbLock is off to find Tink in the crazy city of Orlando.
Definition of Stalk:
1. a stem, shaft, or slender supporting part of anything
2. to proceed through (an area) in search of prey or quarry
3. a slow, stiff stride or gait.
Hmmm. Wonder which one wRitErsbLock’s block was thinking about?
