Was it just me? Did anyone else realize we were already on the letter B for hurricane season? Seriously… BRET is out there right now. B… hmmm guess I need to wake up and realize what is happening around me outside of my house. Then again, every time I look I want to crawl away in a cave and not come back out. Yaa, it is an interesting time to be an adult. Though, I feel that has been said for many centuries.

Yep, I had to make fun of it. I just had to do it and now look. Sucker is a category 4 (Major hurricane) with 140mph winds. Teach me to blog about it. Naaa… I just had to laugh on Harvey‘s comment on THIS POST…
Which reminds me… Harvey is turning 44 on the 14th. Don’t forget to wish him a happy birthday!
The First One is Ana

It is that time again…
Tropical Storm Ana is out in the ocean… due here on Thursday…
Yep… and I just checked our bottled water and we have drank almost all of it… sigh…
Pictures from the aftermath of Hurricane Ike

I am getting emails lately with the ‘after’ pictures. THIS LINK has some that just amaze me. Like the horse that is by the house. I’m glad it survived. And the boat on top of the car? I wonder what type of industrial clamps where used at the dock? Or was that boat inland to start with? Why do pictures of such destruction keep our attention? Is it because you wonder what would you do in that situation? Or that you are glad it is not you? I always wonder when it will happen to me. Odd since I’m usually a optimist, but not when it comes to mother nature. Mother nature scares me. I’ll run from her any day. How about you?
Does this look like it is going far south to you?

Update: Never mind. I am just losing it… Take a look HERE and you will see it is drifting further and further south. Ugh…
I took this from HERE and made a copy since it will change over time… but this is from Sept 6th, 11am AST. Look at that track… It just doesn’t look like it is going to go as far south as the ‘cone of destruction’ shows to me…
Here is the LINK to the cone and a picture I took just now that has been updated to 2pm AST… sigh…
I’m sure they have a lot more information which makes them point it further south… I always just wonder what is going on with the little bit of information I see…
Olga In December

I couldn’t resist a quick post on the fact that the news casters down here are having a blast. Warning! The sky is falling, the sky is falling… Oh wait… they are saying… A hurricane is coming, a hurricane is coming!
Yaa. It is as silly as it sounds.
The Sky is Falling, the sky is falling…

Oh wait… that’s just the news reporters trying to terrify Floridians again. In case you haven’t seen it… there is a storm a brew’n out in the water again. In fact, it got named… Dean. “They” expect it to be a hurricane by Friday.
Darn storm. School starts next week. It better behave itself. This is the first time my child is attending Kindergarten.

2 Sheets to the Wind
August 29, 2006
I will be washing bed sheets, the clothes from yesterday, baking, getting a root canal today, and basically getting ready for a ‘hurricane’. I don’t believe it will be that strong, but no matter what, it can cause limbs to fall off trees and power to be lost.
As much as I don’t want to waste the gas, I don’t want to go 3 or 4 more days in pain. Yes, my tooth hurts… by the end of the day I am in a lot of pain. Add to that my two boys being sick and no sleep. I’m not much fun to live with right now. I am working on making that better. It would probably be nicer for the family if I was ‘two sheets to the wind’… though that was a pun on doing sheets in the laundry and Ernesto. Wish me luck on my root canal and getting ready. Not enough hours in the day and not enough sleep. Luckily Tater is feeling better… we just got to get Tot better.
See ya tomorrow if I have power!

Seems Debby is almost a goner but Ernesto is heading towards the Gulf… What? You haven’t been paying attention to the Hurricane forcasters??? Soon they will be ‘in your face’… if Ernesto actually makes it to the Gulf. Only 2 1/2 months to go… what are the opening bids on the letter we will get to this year? Do I hear M?
UPDATE: I woke up this moring to see that Ernesto is now a hurricane. Ahhh… the fun begins.
