My Previous Life

There are times when I seriously consider running some Cat6 throughout the house. For those who think of cats, this is not cats… this is category 6 wiring usually used for ethernet wiring to your computer. It is something I did before children. Now I have hooked up a wireless system in my house. Normally this is not a problem… until it rains… Like the last couple of days. Then my cheap little wireless wire goes out to lunch. I had a nice one that didn’t have problems until Florida Power and Light decided to do a couple of power cycles in a short period of time… and NO I did not have my router on UPS. Sigh.. I need the rain, but it drives me nuts to have to wait 30 minutes and then power cycle my router. Hard wiring would fix this problem along with an awesome Cisco router but I don’t have the money nor the time to do it… One day…

My hubby sent me

THIS LINK

and I had to watch the whole video. I laughed and enjoyed it. Scroll down, it is a little ways down on the page. Turn up the volume. It is hilarious! I hope CalTechGirl enjoys it. I thought of her when I watches it.

Not Quite the Halloween Theme Yet

Yes, I am playing with the WordPress themes. I should be folding laundry, getting the boys lunches ready and finishing the dishes. Instead… I can’t resist changing the look of my blog. I had no idea it was so easy. Ok, it’s not… It took me a couple of days to catch on to widgets and sidebars and where to put the code… but I blame it on the cold I have been suffering from!!! hahahaha. This was the easiest theme to switch. From here, I will look at creating one for Halloween.

Ahhh… to start using my brain for more than working on Addition, sound of little a and little i, and how to move the paper when you cut versus trying to move the scissors. Yep… this is more fun than coming up with ways to get my children enthusiastic for doing homework…

That is the question I have today. I have been doing research on the web while coughing, hacking, sniffling and wondering why I ever try to do anything while dealing with a cold… I signed up for payperpost finally and it wants me to put tinyurl in my template. I’m not sure I want to do that. Any thoughts? Do you think it is safe? Has it ever loaded a virus on your machine? Would you continue to come to my site? Let me know.

Router issues

Seems my Linksys router is biting the dust a second time. It is very old and doesn’t like cell phones, microwaves, and rain. Bought a new netgear rangemax that worked great and the turkey bit the dust one day about 5 months ago. I wasn’t here so I am assuming we had a power hit that was just too much for it despite my precautions. Which sent me back to my old linksys.

Then for my birthday I got a new printer… and it came with a linksys router. I was going to sell it on ebay, but I think I’ll give it a shot. It is a newer version router than the one I’m using. Just hope it works better.

Give you some info when I hook it up. Looks like we are going to have a lot of rain over the next couple of months and I hate having to power down my router every time it rains. Wish me luck!
