Getting together with friends

It seems most of my friends from my past have moved… ok, I moved and then they moved and now we all live in different places. I miss seeing them eye to eye. Oh don’t get me wrong, we do get together every couple of years… but I would love to see them more often. I have considered audio conferencing services like they use for businesses. The problem is they charge for that service. Rightfully so… don’t get me wrong. Oh there are free services out there, like Skype, for personal use… and I have used it. I have also used business ones… And in reality, I would love to actually be within a few feet of my friends talking versus using our technology we have today. Sigh.

Pictures of the moon

I have seen some truly awesome pictures out there. Mine turned out to be big white blobs. Until last night. I took it from inside my house looking outside our window. (Thanks hubby!) And here is my picture of the moon!


I love it. Finally not a big white blob. I may figure my camera out yet! Yes it is just a digital point and shoot with ‘extra’ options. But those ‘extras’ seem to be pretty cool!

Something I miss…

At the old house we had a hammock on a stand. It got used way past its prime and had to be thrown away. I saw hammock with stand at Hammocks.com and had pleasant memories come back. Wow how I miss that hammock. In this picture I would be standing close to where the hammock was placed.

See the shadow of the tree on the ground? One tree only… hence a stand was necessary to have a hammock. Yep… I want another hammock.

Where is the bubble???

We have 3 air mattresses that keep losing air. So today… I decided to find the holes. I’m hot tired and unhappy. I only found holes in 2 of the 3. Here is an example:

I still think that is cool looking. At least it worked on a couple of the mattresses. Wonder what the boys are going to sleep on at the next time we go camping?

I am starting to hate external drives

Ok… I wanted to back up my harddrive of photos. So I bought a 1 TB external harddrive. The backup software sucked. So I did it manually. And ran out of room. I bought a second harddrive that was 2 TB. I have not run out of room on that one but I hate manual backups. I wish they would come up with an inexpensive backup for home use like they do for business backups. Ugh… and I have a ton more to backup after the last week of activities…

Controlled Chaos

Wow. That was totally the most awesome musical production I have seen. Almost 300 seven and eight year old boys and girls together on stage singing. WOW. I have pictures and will post more tomorrow but just had to say something before going to bed tonight. Wow.

My legs are changing as well

Veins. I am getting veins in my legs that are showing up. I know my mom wears those funky socks… like compression stockings at ShanMedical.com. I keep looking at mine and wonder how soon I’ll be in those. Freaky blue veins sticking out… I might get some just to hide those nasty veins. Don’t get me wrong, I have earned every one of them. Chasing boys is something that will cause all sorts of weird stuff… Ok Ok, it doesn’t… but I’m still blaming it on that. I hate to think it is just age. Sigh.

Wish me luck…

Tomorrow night I will be in a High School auditorium listening to 270 2nd grade students sing. Yep, you heard that right… just about triple that number for the number of parents and kids coming to watch them. My youngest will be up on that stage. I have heard they do a great job… I just can’t help but laugh. There are always kids at that age that do NOT know what singing versus screaming is… I’ll try to record some of it… no promises.

Age Spots

I have decided it is a good thing I don’t have a cautery at home or I would be using it to get rid of my age spots. I was told by a friend’s mother-in-law there are creams out there to get rid of them and I should start now. Ugh. I guess I need to go to CVS and start looking around to what is available. Getting old has its down side at times… good thing most of it I enjoy!

Getting Married Description:

Jack, age 92, and Jill, age 89, are all excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the wedding, and on the way they pass a chemist shop and Jack suggests they go in.

Jack addresses the man behind the counter: “Are you the owner?”

The pharmacist answers, “Yes.”

Jack: “We’re about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?”

Pharmacist: “Of course we do.”

Jack: “How about medicine for circulation?”

Pharmacist: “All kinds”

Jack: “Medicine for rheumatism?”

Pharmacist: “Definitely.”

Jack: “How about suppositories?”

Pharmacist: “You bet!”

Jack: “Medicine for memory problems, arthritis, and Alzheimer’s?”

Pharmacist: “Yes, a large variety. The works.”

Jack: “What about vitamins, sleeping pills, antidotes for Parkinson’s disease?”

Pharmacist: “Absolutely.”

Jack: “Everything for heartburn and indigestion?”

Pharmacist: “We sure do…”

Jack: “You sell wheelchairs and walkers and canes?”

Pharmacist: “All speeds and sizes.”

Jack: “Adult incontinence pants?”

Pharmacist: “Sure.”

Jack: “Then we’d like to use this store for our wedding presents list…”
