Happy Birthday Hubby

October 25, 2012

Yep, my hubby is official only 1 year younger than me now. For a couple of months he is 2 years younger. Seriously, he loves it and the jokes he can make. From August to now, every chance he gets, I am reminded of the age difference. It makes me smile. He is a wonderful man. He supports me going to work part time but also supports me in being involved in the school. He backs me up when disciplining the boys and rough houses with them like I never could. He is so … epic … awesome … as my boys would have said it.

I just say, “I love you hubby and I am happy we have another birthday to celebrate together”.

One down and one to go!

My youngest had his birthday celebration. We went to Orlando this weekend and stayed at his now favorite hotel. The Gaylord Palms! I love his choice. In fact, here is a picture from our balcony at the hotel:

The boys love the pool there. We played tag and basketball. Then they went to the water play area where there are slides and places to splash people as they go by. Yep. Got to be careful with them around. And it was decorated for Halloween! Here was one of the set ups they had and they boys just had to have fun with it… each trying to claim they got first place!

Now I have to clean the hurricane of a mess to get ready for Hubby’s birthday and my youngest first piano recital. What a crazy week… More later!

Sunken Treasure on Display

While at the hotel you can see sunken bounty from the Spanish Plate Fleet wreck of 1715 that Mel Fisher has allowed them to display in the old fort. The boys call it a castle, but it represents an old Spanish fort. Still reminds you of a piece of a castle as well. I took pictures of a few of the displays. Enjoy!

Ohhhhh Gold bars….

Real ammo!

The detail in the old jewelry is amazing…

I love history and this was awesome.

Fascinating Fabulous Fish

All over the hotel were ponds with Koi in them. The boys loved watching them swim over and open their mouths at us. There are signs next to them saying to not feed the fish. I think the fish were great beggars though for a reason. While my boys did not feed them, I have a feeling lots of people do to get the response from the fish.

Here is a close up of one of the fish:

Here is Dad being brave enough to stick his finger in the water.

I loved some of the places you would see the fish… just gorgeous:

And here was an odd looking Koi. The boys loved going to the pond with this one in it.

Dad named it the ‘giant goldfish’. I enjoyed how relaxing it was. Yep…

Over the next couple of days you will be getting a look at my birthday vacation. It was wonderful. We ended up at the Gaylord Palms hotel. They treated us like royalty. When they found out it was my birthday, they sent up a cake! Yummy! I found it funny they put us in the Key West wing of the hotel. Here is a picture right near our elevators:

One part of the hotel that fascinated us was the castle. I am going to post some pictures of us walking and playing around it. We played hide and seek. We loved looking at the treasures. More on that later. Enjoy! Oh, and this is INSIDE the hotel.

More on this stuff later!

Wow. You are now officially one year younger than me instead of two. You look fantastic. Maybe having diabetes sucks but the fact that you lost weight and toned up making you look va va varrooom… at the age of 46… is pretty awesome. You are a great husband, a wonderful and thoughtful father and all I could want. I hope you enjoy your day today. Cause we’ll be camping this weekend! ;-)

Strawberries are red,
Blueberries are blue,
Today is your birthday,
I’m thinking of you.

You‘ve been my friend in history,
Past, present and future,
Girl you know all is true,
Without you I would be indeed so blue.

(and here is my own words)….

You make me laugh,
You make me think,
Through college to childbirth,
You bring me back from the brink.

Let’s continue to get old together,
Let’s continue to joke,
Finding the funny in our families
until the day we croak!

Happiest of birthdays Bou!

Hubby is getting older!

Today, today, my hubby is finally only one year younger than I am. Not two years younger. His birthday is going to be on the low side. We went camping this weekend… which was a blast and more to come on that… but when we got home… I went to the Urgent Care. My ear was killing me all weekend. Turns out I don’t have an infection but fluid on the ear. Ugh. When I got home… you ready for this? I twisted my ankle. No joke. Because my camera was acting up at camp, I formatted it and had to take a picture… here is my ankle:

I was wearing jeans, so you see them as well… looks like I need to buy some more. ;-)

Back to hubby… I will be going to publix to buy some food and get him something good to eat for dinner. He may have to wait for a gift. Maybe I’ll do some research on male christmas gift ideas and get him something extra special at Christmas. Though I will need to get him something from the boys today. Sigh. And I will be canceling some appointments we had today. Need to minimize the amount of time on my ankle. It’s going to be rough. That is for sure. But I need time for the kids to get their stuff done and be ready for Daddy when he gets home. Yep. It’s going to be an interesting day!
