As of yesterday, both boys rode their bikes WITHOUT training wheels and hauled b.u.t.t. down the road. I am very very proud of them. Here are some pictures… first the oldest:

Next the youngest:

If we rode more often, it would have been sooner… but it doesn’t matter. Both boys can now ride their bikes with ease. We can go biking as a family now. I LOVE to bike ride. This makes my year!

Gotta love those boys. They keep me wishing I was a kid again. They decided to use some pillows and themselves to make letters of the alphabet. I’ll let you guess before I give you the answers…
I think this was the easiest to figure out:

It took me a few seconds to get this one right:

And I was totally off on this one and guessed it wrong… can you get it?

Hmmmm… And have you finished clicking on the pictures and checking it out? Ok, here you go for the answers… t, b, h… Yep, made me smile and take pictures. Life is good, yes?

Yes, yes… I know it is a ‘Hallmark Holiday’ and I don’t care. It is fun making cards with the kids and giving extra hugs… and then there is the comments they make that are so unexpected. Sorta like my youngest at Karate yesterday. Sensei M starts the questioning with my youngest child…
Sensei M: YoungOne, who is the most important person in your life?
YoungOne (Tot): Mom… **slight pause here** because she is the oldest in our family
Total outbreak of laughter from all the parents. Yaa, he just had to ask my youngest first. The rest of the kids behaved and just said Mom or Mom and Dad… Stinker… Good thing he is so cute! It will be a valentine to remember. Though Sensei M was great in that he told the kids, which are all boys right now, to let their mom’s sleep in and give them a kiss after they woke up. Gotta love our dojo!

It amazes me how quickly they grow up. Look at this silly boy! Click to enlarge.

I asked him to do some ‘GQ’ modeling for me after that… he certainly won’t need any bodybuilding supplements as he gets older… take a look at these muscles!

Or better yet… can’t you picture this on the cover of GQ (Gentleman’s Quarterly Magazine)?

I have to say… I think my youngest must have a good sense of humor to pose for mom. Hard to believe he is only six. Sigh… where did those years go?

Some days I just wonder about my children and what goes through their heads. The other day while waiting for the bus, the oldest asks me why the earth doesn’t burn up from the center outwards. I have one of those *blink” moments trying to figure out where this came from. I hear the youngest say something about lava and the heat of the center of the earth. Ohhhhhhhhh… Brain is still not kicking in but at least I don’t have to worry about term life insurance prices at Wholesale Insurance because the earth is going to blow up. Then again, I could not for the life of me remember why we aren’t one big ball of lava. Why are we cooler out here? My brain went to water and said something on those lines. Maybe it was the water that kept us cool… Then the oldest came up with … the rain cycle. The rain goes into the earth, helps keep it cool and then goes into the clouds to come down again. Makes sense to me.
Now I have to explain how when you get further away from the heat source it gets cooler and how even though the heat is contained under the mantel and crust… oh this just isn’t going to go well is it? Guess I’ll hit the science books tonight.

I might need to look at more home insurance quotes if i keep letting my kids work in the yard. But isn’t he a cutie?

I love the hat and glasses! If that wasn’t enough, look at my oldest! Click to enlarge any of these.

The man with the truck is a friend of mine. He has a yard business and came over to cut some limbs and help get the yard cleaned up. The kids wanted to earn some extra money… win win situation. Of course being boys, they did want to pick up the little limbs… ohhhh noooo…

It was a great time by all this weekend. Just taking me a while to get all the photos and stuff together. I have such good kids. It makes me wonder how they can drive me over the edge so fast!

Just wanted to brag… my oldest child who is in 2nd grade… is finally figuring out how to take online tests. I am very proud of my son… here is his Reading Counts scores!

This blog is about my family and I hope when we look back in 4 years, this one will all make us smile. Of course, it had to be Diary of a Wimpy Kid that got that best score! hahahahaha…

Here is my Kindergarten boy… I love his story about his birthday. The interpretation is below it:

This is my sixth birthday. I ate donuts. It was good. It was at school. I went to Disney before specials.
The 1 x 11 – 10 is really 1/11/10 (the date it was written). One step at a time. Both boys are really growing up. What am I going to do when they hit their teen years and I can’t be mushy over this stuff???

My youngest woke up at midnight grabbing his right ear and crying. Yep, an earache. We will be off to the doctor asap this morning. No school for him. Did I mention my hubby is going out for town for the weekend? Ahhh… every time he leaves, one of the children gets something. Not usually anything bad, but something to give me lack of sleep before he leaves.
Which destroys all the plans I had for the weekend. I’m going to need a business plan writer to help me get this mess of my life straightened out. Budgeting, health insurance, yearbook, kids, doctor’s appointments, school activities, homework and the list goes on… Sigh… I need to paint one of my walls with that school board stuff so I can write on it with chalk… maybe I would be able to keep up after that. I have a list by my computer that has 3 activities from the beginning of LAST year that haven’t been done yet. I’m so far behind.

Seems the older boys are learning how to ‘add’ words. Making compound words. Now they have already done this but it was something they started for some unknown reason to me. And they kept laughing about it. And once even I laughed. My youngest had to join into it. Now he loves to be funny and will think about ways to be funny. This time took the cake. He asked the older boys what “Poo plus Pee equals”. We all gave him blank looks. He said “Poopy”. Ok, we all laughed so hard at that one. It was funny. Hard to believe in 4 short years instead of poopy jokes, it will probably be acne jokes and I’m sure it will be while I’m out look for acne medicine. I actually think I might look forward to it. It might just be funny!
