Tonight is opening night for the Circus. My boys are on the bike pyramid… I can’t wait to hear the music, see the ring and watch my boys perform! Of course I am so nervous. And so hoping I get a good spot to see the boys, as I am sure it will be packed tonight. 70 kids… plus relatives, friends, and more. Wish us all luck!

I went yesterday to pick my boys up to take them to a music lesson. And… we ended up going back for them to practice for the circus. I had no idea… they are practicing til 5 or 6 at night. Tonight I brought the kids home for a snack before heading back for their 5pm practice. Tomorrow night they have a dress rehearsal from 4:30 to 6… which I have a feeling is really going to be closer to 7… I’m bringing lots of snacks for my hypoglycemic child. I hope they continue to have fun! Here are some pictures from the FIRST day… just wait until Friday!

It was my oldest son’s birthday. He has reached … Double Digits. He is now 10 years old. Thought he was hot stuff all weekend. He is excited and so am I. Though it was an odd birthday. They had to try out for the circus camp. As of this morning we have discovered they both got picked for the bicycle act. Looks… interesting. I can’t wait til Thursday when they have the show. And again on Friday… I look forward to it.

What’s Next?

This week is going to be rough. The oldest is going to soccer camp from 9 to noon. The youngest opted to go back to drama camp. This is a nightmare on me for coordination of time. Add in that I need to work. Hmmm. I saw an ad for wine making and it is starting to look like something I need to invest some time into… particularly if I have any more crazy weeks like this!

Ok, I’m off to take pictures of my boys on horses. I have about 5 loads of laundry to do, and more… but instead, I’m going to go to the ranch and watch my boys ride after five days of training. Let’s see if they really can steer that horse. I’m so excited!!!!

Horse Camp is fun

The boys are having a blast. Washing, brushing and riding. A little bored with the afternoon swim. But overall, they are excited with the riding and that makes me happy. Particularly since I use to ride as a kid and an adult. They have pictures of the horse and pony I use to own and them near the oldest. He doesn’t really remember the two. The pony died and the horse was given away. It was just too much for me to upkeep a high maintenance horse and kids as well. It was for the best. Still, it makes me happy to see them enjoying something I enjoyed in my life. Maybe we can all go riding one day. Awesome!

Drama week is done and …

The oldest really enjoyed it this year. The youngest wants to go again (and he will). They brought home some cute stuff and some great stories. Though my oldest learned that Dick was not just someone’s name. Sigh. It seems like the counselors don’t quite remember to keep the language at a lower level. The A word and the S word were told to me multiple times in stories. Sigh. Yep… my kids are getting older.

He didn’t get picked

My youngest has a frustration of not getting picked to go on stage… I may have to talk to Bones about doing something with him… He also did not eat all this snacks but can’t tell me which one he missed. I’m betting he didn’t get an extra snack in the afternoon. They have a ‘planned’ snack time of 3:15… 3 hours AFTER lunch. Way to long for my little guy. 2 hours is pushing it. 1 1/2 would be better. May have to ask if they can make his snack at 1:30, then the 3 won’t be so bad. Still, he had a blast making some finger puppets.

The oldest loved it. Three girls and one boy from his 4th grade class is in the camp. Yep, he is one that likes the same friends from year to year and is so happy to know people in the camp. I’m happy for him. I hope the week goes well.

Today starts Drama camp. I can’t wait to hear how it has gone with the boys this year. My oldest has two girls he knows that are attending it as well. Hopefully he will enjoy it more this year.

The youngest. Well, he loved it last year and wanted to go again and again and again. In fact he is signed up for it twice. He decided to skip soccer and go to drama camp again. Will make my life interesting. Just hope they camp counselors remember to feed my youngest on schedule… or they will have to deal with the meltdown. Not a pretty sight. Not at all.

Middle of the week

Wow, it is hard to believe it is already Wednesday. I go to get my car fixed today. Not the bluetooth part… they don’t have a loaner car but the air vents and the racks. Need that for our camp out coming up in a few weeks. Yep… scouting is all about the boys and the toys. Right now I have a camp out to focus on … just need to make sure I bring enough bug spray. That ‘all natural’ stuff doesn’t work so well in a swamp. ;-) Just sayin’.

Hope your week continues to improve. Later!
