Christmas Day for Champ

January 3, 2013

I was amazed… my dog went after my sister like there was no tomorrow. He tried to climb in her lap when she sat down, he followed her all over the place if she moved, he nipped at her to get her attention and more. She is the one that has had dogs all her life. She has two very old weimaraners right now. But that is another story. Here he is after he finally got next to her at her house on Christmas Day:

He finally stopped trying to climb in her lap when she reached over and rubbed his belly. Here is that cute little face close up:

Very merry Christmas was had by all!

My sister’s daughter has two kids. Those are my mom’s Great Grandchildren. But my boys are her Grandchildren. When we get together at Christmas it is always funny to think about how our ages worked out with children. Here is my youngest helping his first cousin once-removed, who is the oldest of the kids… He was helping her with Scribblenauts. Great Game by the way.

And here is my youngest talking to his first cousin once-removed about cherry coke…

It was a great day. I am so glad we made it up there for the holidays.

Christmas Day 2012

My sister was able to get a great picture of the boys opening their gifts… she sent it to me yesterday and I have to share it!

Even though they know the truth about Santa, the amazement and joy they have when they get gifts… makes Christmas feel wonderful. It is nice to talk to them about the joy of giving and then see the happiness on receiving. Hard to believe how old they are getting … yet, the fact that they love to give and are so happy to receive… makes it worth it!

The Need for Reports

December 6, 2011

It is that time of year when the push comes for writing. Writing stories, writing reports and more. I was thinking that a report designer would be easier than making them do it on their own. Hey, learning by doing what you would in a job as an adult works right? Sigh. No, instead I have to push, shove and fuss… I have offered incentives… like money, more electronic time, and the such. They seem to prefer to annoy me and not do it so I have to push, shove and fuss. Yep… glad it is Christmas time. Enough of the happy stuff to keep me smiling. And I’m talking about Christmas music and cheer versus that other stuff.

It’s Starting to sound a lot like Christmas

Christmas music on the radio when I get in the car… and the Christmas Story on TV. Walked in just as the tongue was getting stuck on the pole. Baw hahahaha. Triple Dog Dare Ya! And got busy with chores to turn around just in time for the lamp to arrive. As the young son is stroking the leg and mom is about to turn 30 more shades of red as all the neighbors come around to see it from outside. Yep… definitely Christmas season.

The Tree Has Been Started

Yep… it’s starting to feel like Christmas! We put up the Christmas tree, put on some ornaments and made Christmas decorations. Ah… the good life. Now back to homework and the grind stone. Not a bad thing. Routine is good. Though cub scouts is going to make me insane. Seems like we have something every weekend in December before the holidays. Not only that, we have other activities as well to work around. Swim meets, birthday parties… life. ;-)

Hope everyone is having a great time for the holidays. This is the time of year I really enjoy the craziness. Something about gift giving makes me smile from ear to ear.

I’m working on something for my hubby. It requires some sexy clothes and a lot of self confidence. Because I don’t have a hot bod. I am 30 pounds overweight and on a short person… yaa it doesn’t look good… lots of rolls. Don’t get me wrong, I’m working on it. But it is a slow process. Sigh.

Mamaw bought the boys walking sticks. They loved them. In fact, the youngest posed with his for a while. I just had to take pictures of it!

(You can see the oldest playing is ds in the background!)

The youngest discovered he could see his reflection in the TV screen… too funny!

It was a great Christmas and more stories to tell as the weeks go on!

It was a busy morning with lots of gifts. If you notice by Mamaw’s hand, there is the Kung Zhu pet with it’s pikachu costume. The costume Mamaw made!

Yep, that is the ‘old’ game of Operation. Except it has been updated to have a cell phone in the wrist and a few other new ones. We played it and loved it. Hubby, Mamaw and I played it once and ended up laughing so hard we were crying. There was one item we just could not get out. Definitely not going to use the hard setting with the boys, we’ll never finish a game!

Christmas – a weeee bit late

Ok, so I’m slow in getting out a post on our Christmas trip. We went to Pensacola this Christmas. It was COLD. There will be more of that as time goes on… but in the meant time, on Christmas eve my mom let the boys open a gift… ok two gifts. One was sleeping bags (thank goodness) and the other was air hogs. Here they are opening the gifts:

and here I am getting the air hogs that are stuck on the ceiling down:

It was the only place that was ‘smooth’ enough for them to work… well until they hit a bump or two and got stuck. Then I had to get up a ladder and get them down. An evening of fun was had by all!
