I was getting the oil changed in my car today. We talked about the cold weather. About wearing long johns, about ski shops in South Florida and the difference between hurricanes and blizzards. I prefer hurricanes, you have more of a warning. It made me think about the fact that my hubby was running lately and bought some running shoes. I had considered getting him men’s running shorts until now. Wow is it cold. Ok Ok, I could get them and he could wear them when it warms up… but right now it is hard to consider buying summer wear when it is 30F outside.

I think I’ll go make some fudge and enjoy the cold… It’s suppose to be 65 tomorrow. Yep, warming up fast.

It’s Cold In Florida

Some one explain to the weather man that it is not suppose to go below freezing in south Florida. It is suppose to be 28F here in West Palm Beach tonight. That is BELOW freezing. Looks like I may need to go get some heated mattress pads for the boys and I. Geeze. I have low blood pressure and I get COLD fast at night. My hubby laughs now as it is because I put a heating pad down at my feet and turn it on about 10 minutes before bed time. It gets it nice and warm there before I have to climb into bed. Trust me, my feet are like i.c.e. at night. With low blood pressure, all the ‘layers’ won’t help because you can’t get warm to start with… you need a jump start THEN the layers to keep you warm. Trust me, it has been a long haul in learning that lesson. Let’s just hope it warms up just a bit and then gets like this for Christmas day. I love it when Christmas day is cold. The rest of the time, mid 70s would be nice.

Asthma takes the lead

I woke this morning with my chest tight. What in the world? Oh yaa, I have asthma… and it is FRICK’N cold in south Florida. Warm buildings, cold outside… tends to do that to you. My house is set at 70F… still last night at the pack meeting must have set me off. Can’t wait to see how my younger son does today… take a look at this:

Whatcha’ wanna bet that the school has the temp set at 80F or some other high number. Guess I’ll be sending a warning email to his teacher. Though if it was this cold Christmas day it would be awesome. Any bets that it’ll be back in the high 70s by Christmas day?

It’s the same temperature in Pensacola… what is wrong with this picture?

Though the record low is 35F in 1925… 85 years ago… wonder if they wondered about global warming back then? Oh, and I forgot, the average hi is 76F… Cold Cold winter.

Wow… It was 80 something yesterday and tonight…

My mom is coming on Saturday… and tomorrow is ‘shopping in the morning’ day… oh my…

Even my friend from Scotland is wearing a sweater today! Take a look… 1:40pm and it is only 56F here!
