Yep, my hubby is official only 1 year younger than me now. For a couple of months he is 2 years younger. Seriously, he loves it and the jokes he can make. From August to now, every chance he gets, I am reminded of the age difference. It makes me smile. He is a wonderful man. He supports me going to work part time but also supports me in being involved in the school. He backs me up when disciplining the boys and rough houses with them like I never could. He is so … epic … awesome … as my boys would have said it.
I just say, “I love you hubby and I am happy we have another birthday to celebrate together”.

Well, I was thinking about our anniversary… and how much I really enjoyed it… even though it was just the two of us driving around town and never quite deciding what to do. We stopped and looked at puppies, we looked at lighting, we went to Costco and … we talked. All the time I wondered if I should get him a second gift. What second gift would you get the men?
Then I thought what about the wives? What about 2nd Anniversary gifts for her? What should the men give the women? My favorite of course is ‘CHOCOLATE’. Then again… I am one of ‘those’ people who love chocolate. Still I didn’t come up with a good answer for the men… At least nothing I can post on my blog. GRIN. Another year to think about it… I’m sure I’ll have something by the beginning of next April.

Wow. You are now officially one year younger than me instead of two. You look fantastic. Maybe having diabetes sucks but the fact that you lost weight and toned up making you look va va varrooom… at the age of 46… is pretty awesome. You are a great husband, a wonderful and thoughtful father and all I could want. I hope you enjoy your day today. Cause we’ll be camping this weekend!

I have a wonderful hubby. He bought me a Keurig coffee maker, some hoffman’s chocolate hearts and chocolate covered strawberries made fresh yesterday morning. Yep. Definitely a good day for me.
I got him a plant that I didn’t have time to drop by his office, a card that did make it to the bed AFTER he left for work and some little handmade hearts that I hid in his wallet and with his phone.
He remembered to buy the boys chocolate hearts and he hid them in their little mailboxes in their rooms. Very cute. I made little hearts and put them in their lunch boxes.
I do believe I was correct in that my hubby is much more romantic than I am. Gotta love that guy!

My husband came by and pulled my jeans down to try and expose my butt crack while I was cutting up some chicken. He then quickly ran and got the camera and took a picture.

Not the most flattering picture of me, but I wanted to put this on the blog for future blackmail of my husband. See what you did to me when I was busy with raw chicken? You wonder where the kids get it from???? Too funny.

We had some discount cards for Sports Authority. Enough to get 1/2 off of a recumbent exercise bike. It’s a HealthRider H35xr. It is my hubby’s Christmas present. He had to pick it out, so we went as a family. It requires my minivan to get it home and we had to do buy it before the 24th and tonight was the best night for it.
The boys spent most of the time playing on the equipment. They did the bikes, the ellipticals, ab circle pro and more. I had to laugh when I saw the shake weight. I remember seeing the ‘ad’ in Bou’s post HERE. I had the same thoughts she did when she saw it. And to see it on the shelves at Sports Authority made me glad my boys did not spot it and ask me about it.
Maybe next year I’ll just order him some flowers through proflowers if he is in Connecticut again. It would be easier than spending 1 1/2 hours in a sports store waiting for him to decide which bike he likes best. I am very surprised at how well the boys behaved. It might be because there was so much to get into while there.
At least this Christmas insanity of finding a gift for dad is over for now.

Every year, I have to come up with gifts for Dad from the boys. It gets harder and harder. They understand better and I can’t get away with having them make something. Well, they will make a card… but the gift… they want to buy it. And it’s not like they can go look at mens ties and pick one out. Dad doesn’t wear those very often. Not a daily thing for him. And we have bought computer games, ds games and other stuff. I’m running out of items. Any one out there have some good ideas? I was thinking some camping stuff maybe? Sigh… this time of year can drive me crazy for my hubby and his family. I wish they would just give me a list of things they would like and make my life easier. GRIN. Ok, off to see what I can figure out…

I saw my husband turning all the ads to TVs again. Have you seen the newest LCD TVs? Might as well be a PC screen… and I’m waiting for the ads were you can tie in 2 or more TVs at home easily. Yaa… it’s going to happen soon. I just don’t see us getting anything soon unless I get a job. A part time but well paying job. hahahaha. Yaa… 11% unemployment and I’m hoping to find a part time job in this environment. Might happen. I keep looking. It would be great to be able to put some money away more easily but still be able to take time off to take care of the kids. Oh well… it will occur when it is suppose to…

Got that line from Bou! After we talked about the boys getting Dad a nintendo DSi for Father’s day. We now all have a DS of some type. Whoopeee… The boys love it. We sat around playing Mario Cart together. We were all on the same team. Dad kicked butt!
Here is the table, all ready for Dad to get home from work (and yes the flowers are from my garden!):

Here’s Tater helping Dad move along in the gift opening department:

Tater can’t resist showing Dad how to play the games:

And the only reason I am not in this picture is because I got up to get the camera… two minutes earlier and you would have found me sitting beside Tot with my DS in front of me!

It is interesting how they pick one day a year to remind people of different things. I use to have the attitude that I celebrate it all the time, why bother with one day… and now my attitude has changed. While we do special things for dad all the time during the year… I want the boys to have a day to on the calendar that helps them focus. Something they can look at and be prepared for…
I asked them this morning what they liked about their dad…
Tater said “I like that dad loves me”
Tot said “I like it when dad kisses me goodbye in the mornings”
We made a big banner yesterday and argued over what to buy dad. They wanted to get him a nintendo DS… I told them dad wanted a new TV and dad needs to pick that himself. They wanted to get him a new computer. I repeated the TV deal… they just smiled and said, ok, then let’s get him a DS. hahahaha. I guess they are getting focused.
Dad is working this weekend… all weekend. I am hoping he can take a break and have lunch with us today… but it doesn’t matter. I told the boys if we couldn’t celebrate this Sunday, we would do it next Sunday.
My husband is a wonderful father. Very caring and very involved. The boys love him and it shows. I hope when we do get to celebrate he has a great day!
