Four bags of weeds, 3 piles of limbs and some new plants put into the ground. Cross your fingers. I am hoping to grow some fresh vegies for us to actually eat. Though I get the feeling I might be the only one eating the spinach. Mmmmmmm… fresh spinach. Hope it doesn’t get eaten by other outdoor things first… bunnies, bugs… whatever… I want it!
I’m starting to put down cardboard boxes where nothing will be planted for a while. This is still a work in progress…
A better picture of the ‘vegie’ part of the garden:
Bell peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, flat parsley, basil, spinach, snap beans, strawberries, cantelope, oregano, and some seeds you can’t see for onions and broccoli. yep… stuff we eat. Here’s hoping for the best considering this is how it started in May (CLICK HERE) and how it ended up (CLICK HERE).
Time for a Garden Break
Here is my cactus in bloom:
And due to Da Goddess helping me learn about my camera, here is a closeup:
Here is week one… We planted on Sunday… we as in Tot, Tater and Mom. It is an interesting adventure to say the least…. This is what we have:
Here are the boys plants (with a few of mine snuck in…):
And we still have more to do!
Now if I can just keep them alive long enough for my mom to make it down to see them…
The Bloom, The Bloom
A few weekends back we bought plants for the garden. It was buy one get one free at Home Depot… and the kids loved it. I have more seeds NOT shown in the picture. Here is what it looked like when we got home:
Here is what it looks like while we are waiting for mom to finish weeding the garden… and to make sure they don’t go droopy on my again:
Here are the kids’ seeds. Geeze, finally those plastic egg containers came in useful!
Nothing like Guy’s garden… but at least all the plants are still alive as of this morning.
Garden Decisions
When I get a chance, I need to move the tree growing by my rose bush. Just where is the problem…

But very soon… before the roots are so set that I can’t get the little maple up and out of there. Sigh… so much to do and every time I turn around there is something else to be done. Like dig around all the sprinkler heads and try to point them in the right direction. If I can FIND them. Anyone have a strong teenager that likes outdoor work and willing to work cheap????
