How a long weekend becomes short

Friday I had to work and took the kids with me. Saturday was homework and cub scouts. Today… I have got to find a car topper. Looks like Sears will win because they are open and have the cheapest. Though cheap doesn’t necessarily mean better. Sigh. But with the holidays around the corner… I have to ‘cut corners’… and hope it doesn’t bite me in the butt later on. Amazing to me how hard I work, how good I am at math and still suck at finances. UGH. Will let you know how it all goes.

Today the kids are out of school. Today from 1 to 4 they will be going to work with me. Yep… long story but we are understaffed and they need me. I hate to do it but I also like my job and like the people I work with… and they need someone there. I’ll go. My kids can survive 3 hours. I just have to get them moving this morning and tired out.

It shouldn’t be too hard when at 6am it is 60F outside. Going to be a lovely day!!!

Discussion At Karate

My head was killing me tonight with the sinus infection… so another mom, a female sensei and a visiting daughter (in her 20s) of a different sensei and myself went outside. It started with a discussion of not wanting kids. The two young ones (the sensei and 20 year old) did not want kids. Of course the other mom and I totally agreed. Other people’s kids are not likable. Even worse is what do you do when you get baby shower invitations to someone you are not fond of and is expecting kids. Yaa, not my favorite either.

Though the stories that I and the other mom told had us all in tears. It was frick’n hilarious to talk about all this stuff. It is amazing what you will do in labor. And afterwards. Baw hahahaha. You lose all decency. Yep, for a night of karate with the kids it was one of my most enjoyable!

How Ugly Can It Get?

I have an acquaintance that is going through separation and possible divorce with her husband. It has even gotten to the point where he is starting to claim the children aren’t his. The man is a spoiled brat. Not that she asked for my advice but I gave it any ways … she ought to get a paternity test on the kids. End of discussion. Why he would even come up with an idiotic statement like that is beyond me. Ok, it’s not considering the kind of person he is. But that man does not know what a good thing he has going. I don’t think he realizes what he is doing to his kids nor does he care. Sigh… why does life have to be so hard sometimes. I feel bad for the kids. The adults can take care of themselves.

What to do next

Looks like we might have some friends down on Saturday… I hope so. She reminds me of another friend I have in North Carolina. I have looked at Wilmington NC real estate and other places. I like North Carolina. When I was looking for work, I liked the fact that the average age wasn’t 65. Yet, I stuck with Florida. Comfort zone I think. Then again, I love to move and I love new places. Who knows… I still haven’t figured out where hubby and I should ‘retire’. If we make it that far with these kids of ours. ;-)

Guess I’m tired today… I just might head off to bed now and dream about different places to retire and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Picture To Do Lists

It still amazes me how I surround myself with beautiful, intelligent women. I love it. Even more is that one of them has been working for two years to get a product out the door. She and her partner have been working hard. Her more than her partner. Her partner came up with the idea, my friend has done the rest (just about, got to give the partner credit for finding an investor). My friend wrote up and got the patent, wrote up the business plan, … you get the idea. It is one cool product. Ya ya ya…

If you have kids that work well with visuals… this is a great product. Particularly for my boys. Two columns, move the picture (with words) from the to-do side to the done side. Yep. Go take a look at it. She basically did the website as well. That’s a story in itself… they paid someone who did a crappy job and she ended up redoing it. It works, and you can order one if you want. They have them in stock. Luckily I was getting the stuffing taken out of my breast when they were unloading the truck. Phew. Ok, so I would rather have been unloading the truck… but still… product in stock!!! And no, I do not get one cent for this writeup. I’m doing it because I want to do it.
