Today we have work, pick kids up to take to swimming, homework for 20 minutes before going to music and then home again. But yesterday was a long day as well. I could have sworn this week was going to be my easy week.
I went to a scout district council meeting last night. Interesting stuff. More politics there than at work. Then again it is a weird mixture of paid and volunteers. Oh, let’s not forget the ‘good ol’ boys’. Mix well and you get very interesting politics. Seems there is one paid person that is being ‘difficult’ and not passing information on to the rest of the packs and troops. Did you catch that… one of the paid personnel… Yaa, I think it’s time to get rid of said paid person. Seriously. Our pack and others missed a fun event because this person decided not to share the information and have it email blasted out. It was amazing how the forces divided on this one and the political game that occurred. Yep. I can’t wait until the next event and see if we get something or not. Just happy that I am not involved in any activities county wide that would need to go through our district council right now.
Take that along with the coach and I having issues at swimming and I’m ready to drop all activities for my kids and just hide under a rock. Ok, not really. But it does make for an interesting life and really really forces me to be an adult. Sucks. I want to be the childish one occasionally.

Since I have a lifeproof case on my iPhone, I don’t worry so much about it being around water… so I totally forgot to take pictures with my friend’s underwater camera. She bought one to take out on the deep sea fishing boat and for when they went snorkeling. She still had 10 pictures left so asked if I could use it. Sure. I knew we were going camping and the boys would be in the water… a lot. And I forgot. Guess I’ll try to remember to take it to the pool when they have swim practice and see if I can get some water level shots of them swimming. Would be cool looking I think.

My oldest son has stopped swimming. Why? Because it is hard work. D’oh. But today he is suppose to start again. We took away his sweets. It has been a week and he asked if he could swim again. Today is the day. I wonder if he really will swim. Maybe I could send him to get pool supplies at AquaSuperCenter.com instead? Then he could at least be doing something for the pool. Oh wait… he isn’t old enough to drive. ARGH. Just wish me luck that he wants to swim again.

The boys had a blast!
and

I was very proud of them. They tried hard, cheered their team mates on and just enjoyed themselves. That is a good time.

Looks like a wet day. Not a bad thing for the kids since they are going to swim practice right after school. Though it looks like they may be swimming in the rain again. My oldest didn’t swim yesterday because his stomach hurt. I didn’t believe him. I didn’t let him have electronics when we got home. Tough. No exercise, no play.
On the other hand… the youngest swam the whole time, got out, and snuck back in with the older group before I realized what had happened. I just wanted to get out of the cold rain! There is a swim meet Saturday morning and the youngest is so excited about it. It should be a blast. Their first one!
I just wish we didn’t have to get up at 6am to get ready for it… ugh.

Yep, I had to buy my boys swim parkas… because getting out into 72F is cold… D’oh. Actually for a couple of the kids it really is cold. They are just skin and bones. I don’t see muscle, fat or anything on their bodies… they get out of the water and they are shivering. The pool needs to invest in a raypak heat pump or something like that… one of those pool supply items that heats the pool. Geeze they even make solar paneled run heat pumps for pools now. Still, I guess the boys would be even colder getting out of a warm pool to cold breezes… particularly since all our pools are outdoors. Yep, good thing I got those parkas.

Back in August my boys joined the local swim team. It’s three days a week. Lucky for me it is right after school. And the boys are having a blast. It is helping them get in shape. It also gets rid of the extra energy that comes from being all day at school. Here are some pictures from my phone (using Camera+ – thanks Teresa!)
